Programmer – Norman, Ok

Purpose

Applies expertise in programming to systems and programs. Analyzes needs, designs, writes and tests programs and applications. Converts project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to detailed logical flow charts for coding into computer language. Designs, develops and maintains software and data systems to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information. Plans the full range of programming actions, produces products from numerous and diverse data elements from different sources.

Functions

  • Remains in contact with Sales and Engineering departments via e-mail, phone, video conference, and in person when needed.
  • Works with other departments to gather requirements; reviews requirements and needs for developing/modifying software, web and middle tier applications, reports and scripts.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes requirements, determines technical approaches & technical designs, documents work plans, determines effort, and provides an implementation schedule and deliverable dates for projects and enhancements.
  • Supports QA and deployment activities; carries out fact-finding and program analysis of problems; determines most appropriate procedures to resolve, troubleshoot and fix production defects.
  • Critically reviews and effectively tests all programs prior to implementation to ensure software reliably meets system functional and performance requirements; verifies consistency and conformity with established department policies and practices.
  • Maintains and supports applications with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored, or accessed.

Experience

  • 3 year minimum
  • Strong in web and middle tier development with object programming.
  • ASP.Net and VB.Net
  • WPF
  • .NET Framework
  • Visual Studios
  • Basic experience with relational databases (MS SQL)
  • Advanced experience with query plans and writing SQL a plus

  • Strong background in database design concepts
